My sightseeing partner and I needed a lunch break after having walked through the Art Institute of Chicago, having not been to a Cosi in years, I thought to revisit and It did not disappoint. We arrived right before the lunch crowd. The young lady who placed our order waited patiently as we perused the menu. I loved that the menu has the nutritional amount next to the item. I ordered the Hummus Vegetable Whole Grain Flatbread Sandwich with Chips. A Turkey Club on Regular Flatbread with Chips was ordered in addition 2 Ice Coffees. Dining in, once you order and get your drink you sit down with a number, your item is delivered to you. Sandwiches we're very good all ingredients fresh, ice coffees cold and not diluted. Excellent quick lunch stop for fresh food and good service.
Cosi has certainly become go to restaurant for a quick lunch. Since I've discovered this gem, I've been to this restaurant once or twice a week. Upon entering this restaurant, you will notice how well this place is planned out. In the front of the restaurant, you'll find large chairs and sofas along with lower tables. In the center of the room, is where you place your order. The menu is limited but it just enough to fill your hunger needs. Placing your order is generally painless. If you are eating in, you will be given a number so the food runner can deliver your order. My food has always been delivered within a matter of minutes. The balance of the room has various sizes and levels of tables to fit your eating needs. The restaurant has always been clean and free of clutter. I generally have the Chicken Caesar Salad with flat bread. For lunch, it's the right size. So if you are near the Art Institute or the Louis University and need a good and reasonably price, stop in at Cosi.
Yesterday we had a late lunch at Cosi. The atmosphere is more up scale than I would expect from a "fast food " chain. This was a pleasant surprise. We were able to find a couple of comfy chairs and a table near the window. We were able to people watch while we had a delicious meal. I had a choose two meal. Half of a margarita flat bread pizza with half of their house salad. Pizza had a very good taste. The crust was nice and crispy. It was just enough for one person. The house salad was definitely freshly made. It had lots of good things in it, which I love. There was cheese, cranberries, grapes , tomatoes and lettuce, etc. I really enjoyed my lunch. My friend had soup and a salad. It also looked very appetizing. The place was clean and inviting. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area. We are sad that all of the suburban Cosi's are closed.
